About Freestone Retreat Center
Laura writes: "The Freestone Retreat Center was established in September, 2005 in a wonderful Victorian farmhouse in Freestone leased to me by a local non-profit. Since I moved to Northern California three years ago, I’ve held the vision of a cross-tradition gathering place. While I am undeniably grateful and indebted to the spiritual tradition I've practiced for 25 years, I am keenly aware of the need for more mutual understanding among seekers. Learning from other traditions, we begin to see the similarities rather than the differences that often divide even those with a spiritual aspiration."

The beauty and natural surroundings allow people to drop into their hearts more easily, and find the universal longing for happiness that all humans share. I"ve seen that people in the Bay Area have the longing for simplicity, yet their busy lives often keep that at arm’s length. Offering a time and place for people to recharge themselves in this serene energy can be a great benefit. I evision the Freestone Retrea Center as a way for people to reconnect with their heart’s desire to live a certain quality of life."
